A former officer in the British army, Kriss Akabusi MBE is a retired British track and field athlete who competed in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay events. A five-time gold medalist, Akabusi has spent his sporting career achieving goals and maximising success. Perhaps this Olympic speaker’s most famous achievement was crossing the line first in the 1991 World Championships 4 x 400m relay. At the same Tokyo games he also won a bronze medal in the 400m hurdles. Four years previously, Kriss had won a silver medal in Rome in the relay.
