There simply is not enough room to list all the gold medals that swimmer and Olympic speaker David Roberts CBE has won over the years, let alone his plethora of silvers and bronzes.

An incredible Paralympic athlete, probably the UK’s best ever, David Roberts has done something incredible, he has won 11 gold medals at three Paralympic Games, and he could have won more if he’d taken part in the London 2012 Games.

Hailing from Wales, David’s most impressive single medal haul was at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens where the Olympic speaker won a silver in the men’s 200m individual medley but won four amazing golds in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle and 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

All in all, this athlete with cerebral palsy has won an astounding 33 medals – 19 of them are gold, seven silver and seven bronze. In recognition of David’s staggering achievements, he has been asked to appear on TV many times, has carried the flag of Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and the Paralympic Games flame in London in 2012.
