British pole vaulting record holder and Olympic speaker Holly Bradshaw (formerly Holly Bleasdale) has so many competition medals to her name that it is easy to lose count, including an incredible 10 gold medals.
Holly made her breakthrough in 2010 when she came fourth in the National Championships and then won her first medal – a bronze – in the World Junior Championships. The next year, her career really took off, coming fifth at the European Team Championships then winning three fantastic gold medals at the National Indoor Championships, the National Championships and the European U23 Championships.
A brilliant Olympic speaker who entertains audiences with stories from her time at the very pinnacle of athletics, Holly Bleasdale achieved two more gold medals at the Aviva European Indoor Trials and the Aviva Grand Prix. In the same year, she got a bronze at the IAAF World Indoor Championships then came sixth at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The following year saw Holly win two more gold medals – one at the National Championships and one at the European Indoor Championships. In 2014, she won yet another gold at the British Indoor Championships and the next year two more gold medals – one at the British Championships and one at the Welsh Championships.
Despite her amazing career progression, Holly would have achieved even more if she hadn’t lost several months dealing with injuries that prevented her from competing. But disappointment and success have helped to give Holly the invaluable insight that has enabled her to become one of Europe’s most popular Olympic speakers.
