Winner of four European Championship gold medals

Jazmin Carlin

Nicknamed ‘Jazz’, Olympic speaker Jazmin Carlin is a freestyle swimmer who excels in the 400m and 800m events.

As a competitor for Great Britain, Jazmin won no fewer than four gold medals at the European Championships in Berlin (2014) and Netanya (2015). She also won a gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she represented Wales.

Jazz’s three silver medals came in the same Commonwealth Games, the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 Doha World Championships. The Olympic speaker has also won four bronzes in her career – three for Great Britain at the 2009 and 2015 World Championships and the 2010 European Championships and one for Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

At these games, Jazmin broke the Welsh record and became the first Welsh female to win a swimming medal in 36 years. And when she got her bronze medal she became the first Welsh woman in 80 years to win two medals at one Commonwealth Games.

As well as being a winner in the water, Jazz is determined to user her expertise to help others. A qualified personal trainer, she is looking to support people in their efforts to get fit and healthy. And as an Olympic speaker, Jazmin is proving to be extremely popular with audiences who enjoy hearing her stories of how she got to the very top in a sport where individual talent and commitment are the most important factors.
