Amateur Boxer Who Claimed Gold in Middleweight Boxing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games

A professional boxer, Lauren Price has wowed the general public with her talents in the boxing ring. Competing in the amateur boxing discipline, Lauren has been a competitor in some of the world’s most prestigious matches. Formerly playing football for Cardiff City, Lauren is highly passionate about sport, also spending time on the U17 and U19 football teams for Wales. With a highly inspirational story to tell as an athlete, Lauren is now available to hire as an Olympic speaker for a range of corporate events to share her successes with audiences.

Throughout her life, Lauren has been passionate about competing in sport, having participated in everything from netball and football to taekwondo and kickboxing. Before her boxing days, Lauren was a kickboxer and has been a four-time World Champion and six-time European Champion in kickboxing. Some of her prominent kickboxing wins include claiming Silver at the 2007 World Championships, and she was also recognised as the youngest British kickboxer at the British Championships. As a footballer, Lauren was capped 15 times for the junior Wales teams before being capped twice for the Senior Wales team– achievements that allowed her to be named as the FAW Club Player of the Year.

Moving on to compete in boxing, Lauren was inspired by none other than pioneering Nicola Adams to participate in the sport. Showing immense talent in the sport, Lauren has claimed 2019 European Games Gold, 2019 World Championship Gold and 2018 Commonwealth Games Gold. Paving the way for female boxers, Lauren was recognised as the first Welsh woman to win Gold at both the European Boxing Championships and the Commonwealth Games. She has also claimed three Bronze European Championship medals, a World Championship Bronze and Commonwealth Games Bronze.

In 2021, Lauren was given the opportunity of a lifetime- to represent Team GB at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in the Middleweight Boxing event. After the postponement of the games due to Covid-19, Lauren flew to Tokyo and claimed Olympic Gold in the Middleweight Boxing, a significant achievement for the up and coming female boxer!
