As a competitor for Scotland, Olympic speaker and curling specialist, David Murdoch has won seven gold medals, four silvers and four bronzes. Arguably the most notable is his memorable silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games held in Russia. Just 12 days after this career-defining event, David lost his father, putting competitiveness and success into a new perspective. As an Olympic speaker, he reflects upon his athletics career, offering audiences an insight into the highs and lows of competing.

David’s curling gold medals were from the World Championships of 2006 and 2009; the European Championships of 2003, 2007 and 2008; and the World Junior Championships of 1995 and 1996. His silver medals came in the World Championships of 2005 and 2008; the World Junior Championships of 1998; and the European Championships of 2006. David’s bronze medals were won at the World Championships of 2010 and 2013 and at the European Championships of 2005 and 2013.

In all, the Olympic speaker made seven World Championship appearances between 2005 and 2015, 11 European Championship appearances between 2003 and 2013 and three Olympic appearances between 2006 and the medal-winning 2014. As a testament to his dedication, David is now the performance team manager and coach for the British Curling team. In this role, he developed skills in teamwork, leadership and personal development, which he expands upon in his speeches.

David is a popular sports speaker, booked for a wide range of events. Having travelled internationally to give team-transforming coaching advice, David knows how to inspire an improved perspective in his audience. This Olympic speaker is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s top curlers, making his story of elite sport invaluable.
