From their family home, Champions Olympic Speakers’ founders, John and Matthew Hayes launched the business.
In their first year, the father and son powerhouse grew the company to include two employees.
We were quickly recognised as the 2003 Business of the Year in Leicestershire & Rutland, a testament to our core family values.
In the first five years of our services, the Champions brand grew exponentially.
We required more space for our expanding team, so commissioned a purpose-built office building next to the house where it all started.
It took a year to construct the office building, so in 2009 it was officially opened by the Right Honourable Ken Clarke.
The extra space allowed our 250-strong team and network of loyal clients to continue innovating, creating and booking exceptional Olympians and Paralympians.
Within a matter of years, our staggering growth was recognised with such awards as the Insider Growth100 Table, The Sunday Times' FastTrack100 (57th), The Telegraph 1,000 Britain's Brightest Businesses and Leicestershire's Top 200 Companies, to name a few.
To mark the first decade of the Champions Olympic Speakers Agency, we launched a re-brand. We maintained our family values while strengthening the core traits of our award-winning service.
In response, we were listed in the London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, an impressive feat for our Midlands-based family business. Champions also achieved RAR Recommended Status.
In 2014, the Champions brand was named the Santander Breakthrough 50 awards winner and our Managing Director, Matthew Hayes, was named the Haysmacintyre Top Gun at the Young Guns Awards.
Adding to our collection of awards, we were immensely proud of the continued success that Champions Olympic Speakers achieved.
As the market continued to expand and our client list grew, we commissioned another office building to house our large team of booking agents, creatives, accountants and more.
On the 25th of September, the building was opened by the Right Honourable Ken Clarke – six years to the day he opened our original office building.
With another re-brand on the horizon, the Champions Olympic Speakers Agency launched their Perfect 10 values.
Defining our unique approach to business, the list of standards ensured our can-do attitude, creativity and innovation across each department.
One of the most exciting developments in our history was the construction of our research and media centre. We invested £1 million in the state of the art building, which today houses our exciting digital experts and creators.
Again, our digital hub was opened by the Right Honourable Ken Clarke - the third grand opening in our partnership with the former MP!
In 2019, we were listed 3rd in the Insider Growth 100 Awards, in celebration of our expanding growth.
