Biography

Nottingham-born Jamie Baulch is a British sprint athlete, Olympic speaker and television presenter who has won gold and silver medals at all the major sporting events. An influential character within the world of athletics, Jamie has gone above and beyond to try and change the face of British athletics. Now spending lots of his time as a speaker, Jamie discusses vital topics such as maximising success and achieving goals.

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Jamie got a silver medal in the 4 x 400m relay and a year later at the World Championships in Athens in the same discipline, he won one of his career’s four golds. Two years later in the World Indoor Championships, this superb athlete and Olympic speaker won another gold medal, this time in the 400m. Being no stranger to success has ensured Jamie has spent the majority of his career under the spotlight, he often discusses how to deal with pressure and in particular being under the spotlight from the media.

Jamie’s other World Indoor Championships 400m medals came in 1997 (silver) and 2003 (bronze) while two more golds came in the European Championships 4 x 400m relay in 1998 and 2002. All of these medals were won by Jamie Baulch representing the UK. As a competitor for Wales, he also achieved a bronze and a silver in the 4 x 400m relay in the Commonwealth Games of 1998 and 2002 respectively.

As well as his successes on the track, Olympic speaker Baulch has appeared on British TV many times, including SuperstarsA Question of Sport and the children’s programme Energize! Keen to give something back to the world of sport, he has also set up the Jamie Baulch Academy which promotes sports in schools and a company that manages various other sports stars.
