Biography

In 2016 Lizzie defended her Trofeo Alfredo Binda title to claim her second UCI World Tour win of the season. She crossed the line one second in front of American Boels-Dolmans team-mate Megan Guarnier. The win was Lizzie’s fifth in a row in races that she completed.

Overall, Lizzie is a five time medalist at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships which included one in the team pursuit where she showcased elite levels of teamwork with her partners Wendy Houvenaghel and Joanna Rowsell. Lizzie also expresses the importance of peak performance and dealing with pressure from both a sports and business perspective.

Lizzie has won countless medals and tour events, her greatest achievements include a road race silver at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Here, Lizzie became the first British athlete to win a medal at the home Olympics. She also won the road race gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and a silver four years earlier at the same event.

At the Cycling World Cup, Lizzie has won an astonishing nine gold medals. The most impressive thing about this feat is that Lizzie won all nine gold medals over two world cups between 2008 and 2009. Winning team pursuits, scratch race and points race, Lizzie has shown to be an extremely versatile cyclist.

As a speaker, Lizzie uses her cycling experiences to motivate her audiences. She has fantastic presenting skills and humour which ensure her speeches are both intriguing and educational. Lizzie often discusses the aforementioned topics but also touches on maximising success.
