David’s biggest achievements include gold medals in the 5000m at the 1982 Australia Commonwealth Games and in the 1500m at the 1978 Canada Commonwealth Games. In 1981, he came first in the European Cup 5000m. David has also won silver and bronze medals in various European Championships.

In 1997, David became Chief Executive of UK Athletics, a job he held for 10 years. The Olympic speaker is still the UK record holder for the 3000m race. Watching David run stirred emotions and lifted people’s spirits, a sentiment which he brings to his presentations. Audiences who witness David speaker are frequently inspired by David’s story of guts, passion and commitment. Just watch his 5000m record-breaking victory in Oslo in 1982 and you cannot fail to be moved.

Testimonials of his speeches describe David as “absolutely fantastic”. This down to earth Olympian is the perfect speaker or event host, thanks to his captivating nature and insightful story. Immensely motivational and dedicated to his audience, David is a booking opportunity not to be missed.
