Earning his MBE in 1998 for services to sport and charity, Iwan is known for his incredible silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta in the 4 x 400m relay. At the 1997 World Championships in Athens, he won three gold medals at the 1998 European Championships in Budapest. While performing at the top of his sport, Iwan gained a number of valuable skills, including peak performance and an unwavering focus.
Iwan has also won gold relay medals in the European Cups at Villeneuve d’Ascq in 1995, and Munich in 1997. At the IAAF World Cup in 1998, the Olympic speaker won a gold medal in the 400m and silver in the 4x400m. When representing Wales at the Commonwealth Games, Iwan has won all three shades of medal – a gold and bronze medal at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur games and silver in 2002, Manchester.
Iwan is also no stranger to TV viewers, having appeared on such high-profile programmes as Superstars, Celebrity MasterChef, Through The Keyhole, Eggheads, The Wright Stuff, Total Wipeout and even Strictly Come Dancing. Iwan is most noted for breaking Sebastian Coe’s 400-metre student record, a testament to his determination and skill. As a speaker, he a popular booking for corporate and school events alike, due to his inspiring story and ability to motivate.
