Biography

Recognised as one of the most striking figures ever to emerge from the sport of swimming, Sharron won two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games when she was just 15 years old – one for the 200m medley and one for the 400m medley.

Two years later she came second at the Olympic Games in Moscow in the 400m medley – missing out on another gold medal to a swimmer who admitted her victory was achieved with the help of performance-enhancing drugs. As a speaker, Davies often discusses the disappointments of coming second and how you deal with setbacks in both sports and business.

The Olympic speaker initially retired from swimming when she was just 18 and went on to forge a career in modelling and as a television personality. Almost 10 years later, Sharron Davies MBE went back into the pool and found herself among the medals again at the Commonwealth Games. This time she won a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle and a silver in the 4x200m freestyle.

Among Sharron’s high-profile TV appearances have been sessions presenting the Big Breakfast show on Channel 4 and being a pundit at numerous Olympic Games. But she is probably best known for her time on the Gladiators programme where she went under the name of Amazon.

A natural presenter, Davies uses her sporting experiences and presenting skills to provide compelling speeches. Her audiences are inspired and moved by her speeches where she reflects on topics such as being under the spotlight and maximising success.
