Before her transition to weightlifting, Emily's athletic pursuits included competing in shot put, discus, and hammer throw. It was only during her time at university that she discovered weightlifting through CrossFit, a chance encounter that would redefine her sporting trajectory. Her rise to prominence began at the 2021 European Weightlifting Championships, where she captured the gold medal, firmly establishing herself as a dominant force in the sport. Her success continued with a bronze at the World Championships later that year, showcasing her ability to compete at the highest level.

Emily's career has been marked by a string of significant achievements, including retaining her European title in 2022 and 2023, and winning a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she set a new Commonwealth Games record. In 2024, she further solidified her legacy by securing her fourth consecutive European title and earning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games in the +81 kg category.
