In 2007, at just 17 years old, she won a gold medal in the Keirin and a silver in the 500m time trial at the UEC Junior European Track Championships in Germany.
In the same year she won a silver in the sprint at the UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Mexico. Having been successful from such a young age in her career, Varnish is no stranger to success and often discusses her sporting success achieving goals.
