Varnish often discusses dealing with setbacks using the London Olympics as an example. She explains the importance of mental resilience in a situation where you’ve worked so hard for something, only for it to be taken away from you. Despite this setback, Jess’s career is one of a fiercely competitive rider who has won many medals in some of the most testing cycling tournaments in the world. In 2007, at just 17 years old, she won a gold medal in the Keirin and a silver in the 500m time trial at the UEC Junior European Track Championships in Germany.

In the same year she won a silver in the sprint at the UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Mexico. Having been successful from such a young age in her career, Varnish is no stranger to success and often discusses her sporting success achieving goals.

A year later, this incredible athlete and Olympic speaker won a gold in the team sprint at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester and two more golds in the Keirin. At just 20 years of age, Jess at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Colombia, and a silver in the same discipline at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Australia. Having been a part of some of Britain’s most successful cycling teams, Varnish is an expert in teamwork. When she is at events, she often discusses the importance of teamwork in order to succeed.

In the same year as her Olympic disappointment, Jessica won three more gold medals in the team sprint along with a silver and a bronze. Between 2012 and 2016, the Olympic speaker’s medal haul included two silvers and five bronzes. Continuing to have a successful cycling career, Jess understands that there are a number of reasons she has been successful. She aims to inspire her audiences by discussing her career and the drive and determination required to be successful.
