He has also won two silver medals at the World Curling Championships in 2011 in Regina and 2012 in Basel, achieving a bronze at the same tournament in Victoria in 2013. In the same year, Michael also won a bronze at the European Curling Championships in Stavanger. Regularly winning medals at the biggest events in the world has meant Goodfellow has spent a large part of his career within the media.

He often talks about dealing with pressure and how this can ensure you maximise success. Earlier in his career, Olympic speaker Michael Goodfellow took part in two Winter Universiades – in 2009 and 2011. An international multi-sport event, the Universiade is recognised as the second-largest event of its kind in the world, second only to the Olympic Games.

Playing for the Tom Brewster rink, Michael Goodfellow has also been involved in three Scottish Championship wins from 2011 to 2013. In addition, the Olympic speaker played in seven games when his team came seventh in the 2012 European Curling Championships.
