Biography

Having won six gold medals at prestigious athletics events, Cram is one of Britain’s most decorated middle distance athletes of all time. He won his first recognisable gold medal at the 1982 European Championships in Athens before quickly following up with another gold medal a few weeks later in the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

Cram won one Olympic medal when taking the silver medal for the 1500m in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He was second to Lord Sebastian Coe who is widely regarded as Britain’s greatest ever middle-distance runner. During Cram’s career, he battled with the best athletes in the world and became an inspiration to thousands across the world. As a speaker, Cram discusses how to deal with pressure and maximise success in both a sports and business environment.

Steve has also become a regular show host and radio presenter, he has hosted shows on BBC Radio 5 Live, including hosting popular 606 and Sunday Sport. He has learnt valuable presenting skills which when coupled with his knowledge on a variety of vital business-related topics, makes for one of the most gripping Olympic speakers on the circuit.

After an outstanding season in 1983, Steve was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year. He was then appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1986 and Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to sport. As an Olympic speaker, Steve is the perfect addition to any event or occasion.
